Montana becomes first U.S. state to pass law banning TikTok
Montana Governor Greg Gianforte signed the first U.S. law banning TikTok on Wednesday, set to take effect in January 2024. A statement from the governor’s office said that violators of the new law will be liable to pay $10,000 per violation and an additional $10,000 each day the violation continues.
