An explosion in Monaco injured three people, including Ukrainian construction magnate Vadym Yermolaiev.

The suspect who planted the bomb acted alone and remains at large, Monaco's chief prosector said on Tuesday, NPR reported. Authorities say the suspect fled to neighboring France.

The bomb went off around 9 p.m. on Monday near the entrance of a residence close to the French border. One of the people injured is a woman who remains in critical condition, and the other is a child whose injuries aren't life-threatening.

A Ukrainian news outlet reported that Yermolaiev was among the injured, and he was targeted by Ukrainian sanctions in 2023 for allegedly having ties to Russia.
