House speaker says Trump will receive housing bill Monday
The president had canceled a signing ceremony for the bill at the U.S. Capitol until the GOP voting bill, the SAVE America Act, gets passed.
House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Sunday that the bipartisan housing bill would be sent to President Trump on Monday.
The president canceled a signing ceremony for the bill at the U.S. Capitol, saying he won't sign it until Congress passes the GOP voting bill, the SAVE America Act.
“I’m going to send the bill over to him on Monday, and it will become law,” Johnson said on "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo.
“I certainly want him to take the biggest, boldest marker that he has and do that big Trump signature proudly on that legislation because we’re delivering for the people, and that’s what he wants to do,” he added.
Some Democrats have expressed doubt Trump will sign the bill.
